À propos
Situated between the Bruche River and the pre-Vosges hills, Dinsheim-Sur-Bruche is a pleasant village just a stone's throw from the Alsace Wine Route. It is crossed by the tumultuous Bruche river, which flows into the Ill.
In the 1st and 2nd centuries, a potters' workshop was set up on the outskirts of Dinsheim. It produced pottery in red terra sigillata, as evidenced by the shards discovered there and exhibited at the Musée de la Chartreuse in Molsheim. The neo-classical church, built in 1828, and the town hall, an elegant neo-Baroque building erected in 1869, stand in the center of the village. The main attraction, however, is the Schiebenberg ascent to the summit, which features a gilded cast-iron statue of the Virgin and Child (1875). A charming signposted path leads to this peaceful spot, where an impressive panoramic view awaits the hiker.
High above the village lies the Kaiser Wilhelm II fort. This impressive German fortress defended the entrance to the Bruche valley. Two protected nature reserves (Krappenhummel and Mittelpinn) grace the hillside with their magnificent wild orchids.
