À propos
This neo-classical style building, erected from 1828 to 1832, was completely restored after the fire of 1987. In 1836, Stiehr-Mockers installed the organ, to which Franz Kriess added an independent mechanical console in 1896. It was severely damaged in the fire: all the pipes had melted under the effect of heat. The clock was installed in the bell tower in 1845. The two paintings that still adorn the choir today date from 1856 and 1861. The two side altars were added in 1896. Lang Oscar, parish priest from 1956 to 1975, undertook a vast renovation of the interior of the building in 1963: wooden floor, black granite altar, copper plate on the entrance door and the purchase of a Vosges sandstone baptistery.
Since the fire, the church has been closed to the public but remains accessible during services.
