CATHÉDRALE SAINT-JUST ET SAINT-PASTEUR
📍 Narbonne, Aude
· Rue Armand Gautier, 11100 Narbonne
À propos
In a radiant Gothic style directly inspired by the great cathedrals of Northern France, the cathedral of St-Just-et-St-Pasteur stands out for its unique choir, whose vaults rise to more than 40 metres high
Built between 1272 and 1340, it remained unfinished, as the Consuls refused in those turbulent times to destroy the ramparts in order to continue construction. The axial chapel of Our Lady of Bethlehem has a 14th-century altarpiece made of polychrome stone
The Treasure Room, also known as the Acoustic Room, has a rich and precious collection of liturgical objects, ivories, goldsmith's and silversmith's work and tapestries
Weekly masses on Sundays at 11am and Fridays at 10am (except for special celebrations).
