On November 15, 1888, the Mayenne town council decided to build a theater in the château garden.
A place of ostentation and social parade for the Mayenne bourgeoisie, the theater has the particularity of having both a facade facing the town and another overlooking the park.
Through the decorations on the facades, architect Fernand Hélain gave the spectator a clear idea of what he was about to see: musical instruments
musical instruments, sheet music and comedy masks.
Today, the theater retains its original function, hosting shows, concerts and plays
