À propos
Normandy Impressionist Day
Let yourself be swept away by the spirit of the Impressionists for an exceptional day in Giverny, following in the footsteps of Claude Monet and the greatest masters of light.
- 10 a.m. – Guided tour of the exhibition “Invitation to Daniel Buren, ‘Plantations’: Site-Specific Works, 2026 / Collections”
Fascinated by Monet’s work, Daniel Buren is taking over the Giverny landscape for the first time, where nature—sublimated by the Impressionists’ brushstrokes—will serve as the setting for a unique artistic encounter. Through the museum’s collection and the iconic setting of Giverny, this installation promises a sensory immersion, where art and nature intertwine to celebrate Monet’s timeless legacy. This encounter between two artistic eras is a landmark event, where the interplay of light and color so dear to Monet will find a unique echo in Daniel Buren’s installations.
- 12:00 p.m. – Lunch at the restaurant of the Ancien Hôtel Baudy
An iconic spot in Giverny, this restaurant has welcomed numerous French and American Impressionist painters since 1886, including Cézanne and Renoir.
Menu: main course + dessert + drinks and coffee:
- Chicken thigh with tarragon and potato millefeuille
- Homemade apple tart on puff pastry.
- Drinks and coffee are included in the set menu.
- 2:45 p.m. – Guided tour of Claude Monet’s house and gardens
Accompanied by Claire and Léa, passionate tour guides, you’ll stroll along the paths of the Clos Normand while enjoying the late-season flowers and admiring the famous water lily pond and the Japanese bridge. You’ll then enter Claude Monet’s pink house, where the painter’s spirit lives on in every restored room: period furniture, personal mementos, a collection of Japanese prints… A true journey into the artist’s private world. At the end of your visit, be sure to stop by the Grand Atelier des Nymphéas gift shop, which offers books, stationery, decorative items, and souvenirs inspired by the world of Monet and Giverny.
