Diva Lazarus

For all ages (10 and up)

A strange creature has been forgotten under the stage; it crawls out from under the floorboards and tries to figure out what it’s doing there. It then tells us its stories—about its career as an opera singer, its admiration for Nina Simone, Maria Callas, and Dalida—all while exploring her vocal cords and her body in an attempt to reclaim what has long been shaped by others.
Testimonies from other female singers enter the conversation, surround her, and make their voices heard as well. Accompanied by these divas, Ema Katrovas delivers a courageous, funny, and moving story.
