Created in 1950, the Museum of Modern Art in Céret owes its existence above all to the greatest artists of the 20th century. In the wake of Picasso and Braque, who created here the masterpieces of cubism admired throughout the world, Matisse, Herbin, Juan Gris, Soutine, Chagall, Miró, to name but a few, came to work in and around Céret.
