LE LYCEE-COLLEGE CLIMATIQUE RENE-BILLERES

In 2005 the school Renes Billeres has celebrated its 50th anniversary. The school buildings are spread throughout 7 hectares. The famous architect André REMONDE who always had an open mind to new ideas from Le Corbusier, was in charge of this project. He used materials such as concrete and steel because he was looking for a work of art showing modernity. Several well-known artists worked to achieve this aim: for instance we have SINGIER mosaics, Anna SLOCOMBE ceramics and “La Bachelière” bronze sculpture made by GELIN, in the old girl’s building there is a glued cloth made by MANESSIER and last, but not least, the sculptures made by E. HAJDU over the concrete pillar facing the gymnasium.
