MUSÉE DE L'INQUISITION

Housed in an authentic 17th-century building, the Museum of the Inquisition invites visitors to discover, through a recently revamped museography, an important period that is still too often overlooked. The exhibition features a large gallery of torture instruments. It bears witness to the extent and spread of the Inquisition throughout Europe, well beyond the borders of France, and provides an insight into the intolerance and anxiety-inducing climate that prevailed at the time. It also features the key players in the Inquisition and the Cathar resistance in Occitania.

Historical explanations on panels translated into several languages and on audio-visual aids accompany you throughout your visit, highlighting the emblematic sites within which history continues to resonate. Guided theatrical tours for groups of 12 or more are also available, with advance booking.
