Carcassonne welcomes the Tour de France 2026: a new legendary stage!
The City of Carcassonne is proud to announce the return of the Tour de France in 2026! Once again this year, the medieval city will vibrate to the rhythm of the world's greatest cycling race. Carcassonne will be the starting town for the 4th stage, which will take the riders to Foix, in the heart of the Ariège Pyrenees.
An emblematic stage between heritage and performance.
The start of the Tour de France 2026 in Carcassonne will offer an exceptional spectacle: between the UNESCO World Heritage listed ramparts, the picturesque narrow streets and the festive atmosphere, the city promises a memorable day for cycling enthusiasts and visitors from all over the world.
The riders will leave the Cité de Carcassonne to set off towards the first Pyrenean peaks, in a stage combining scenic beauty and sporting challenge.
