Bastide de Bruges

Bruges was built in 1357 at the foot of the Pyrenees by Bertrand Pujols (Viscount of Foix-Béarn). Its name comes from the Flemish city where G. Fébus stayed the same year. It includes: Simple and homogeneous architecture reflecting that of the houses of the Pyrenean foothills, a square with covered walkways, decorative lintels carved in stone attesting to the village's prosperity in the 19th century. The portal of the 16th century church, is registered as a Historic Monument. Remains from the 14th century: the bell tower and stairway tower. It has three green spaces, the "Padöens", that were formerly used as a grazing area for pigs, a private 16th century mill.
