Le coeur du géant - Sentier des pierres à légendes

It's a stopover on the Sentier des pierres à légendes. The giant Grandguibol (Norman) was a great traveler, but when he got tired, he had to rest immediately. He stopped on a rock between Massauvas (le mas sauvé) and la Vauzelle (la petite vallée) in the Limousin region. After his nap, he spotted a shepherdess with whom he fell in love. He called out to her, but she ran away. He waited for her for twenty days without success. In despair, he died of grief. It is said that his immensely large heart clung to the gigantic rock that witnessed this extraordinary love, and withered away. When he fell to his death on the rock, parts of his body broke off, some petrifying almost instantly. You can see his brain and a huge molar sliding down towards the Little Valley where the shepherdess lived, and other parts turned to stone in the surrounding area.
