Anchored in the heart of the Cité Impériale, the Bibliothèque Saint-Corneille was completely refurbished in 2007, on the remains of the Abbaye Saint-Corneille.
With a view of the city center through its contemporary glass roof, the library has three spacious, bright levels.
Easily accessible by elevator, they house some 88,000 documents (books, comics, DVDs, periodicals) and offer free internet and wifi access.
In addition, a document room doubles as a quiet study room, much sought-after by students, readers and visitors wishing to work in peace and quiet.
Other highlights of the building, which is listed as a historic monument, include a restored 14th-century cloister, a haven of relaxation and reading pleasure, and a cellar dating from the same period, a popular spot for researchers, housing some 20,000 heritage documents, as well as the 4,260 remarkable treasures in its Réserve Précieuse!
At the Bibliothèque Saint-Corneille, you'll find special collections:
- Cinema (fiction and documentary DVDs)
- Heritage collections
- English-language literature in V.O.
You can also borrow e-readers for 3 weeks. They are available at reception.
