À propos
A milky quartz rock at an altitude of around 950 meters, particularly original in the Vosges massif. It is characterized by a fine-grained texture, the presence of biotite lamellae and dull greenish pinite granules.
Associated with an ancient pilgrimage and probably with a more ancient cult, this singular site raises questions. Could its particular geology have been the source of natural luminous phenomena, comparable to the famous Hessdalen lights in Norway?
From the top of the rock, the panorama opens out onto the Hautes Chaumes, the slopes of the Lac Blanc ski resort and, in the distance, the Hohneck massif.
The site can be reached by following the Club Vosgien signposts (red ring) from Fer à Cheval.
