📍 Plainfaing, Vosges · 88230 Plainfaing
À propos
The Tanet-Gazon du Faing national nature reserve (505 ha), created in 1988, stretches between the Col du Bonhomme and Col de la Schlucht, in the communes of Plainfaing and Le Valtin, at the heart of the Ballons des Vosges regional nature park. Situated at altitudes of between 1,160 and 1,306 m, it protects high Vosges stubble fields, peat bogs, high-altitude beech forests and landscapes shaped by pastoral and glacial history.

The site is home to remarkable biodiversity, with over 500 plant species and emblematic mountain fauna, including the capercaillie. A 1.9 km educational trail allows visitors to explore the site, while certain areas are strictly protected to preserve the tranquillity of the fauna.
