Le Faing du Souche is an ancient thatch that bears witness to agricultural abandonment. Today transformed into a hay meadow, it is located near the Plainfaing tourist office and the Hautes-Vosges confectionery, making it a pleasant and accessible walk (approx. 3h30 round trip).
Intimately linked to the pastoral history of the Habeaurupt valley and the Fraize ban, it rises to an altitude of over 900 metres, not far from the main Vosges ridge. From here, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Haute-Meurthe valley, Xéfosse, the Rudlin and, in the distance, the Hohneck.
