Alexandre Dizac aka Alëxone is a French artist, painter and illustrator with a graffiti background. He was born in Paris in 1976.
For over twenty years, he has been developing an immediately identifiable body of work, driven by a popular energy, constant mischief and a pronounced taste for play: a play on words, images and references.
Alëxone's world is humorous and colorful. Characters are often made up of colored flat tints framed by dark shadows, without relief or realism.
The human figure is often masked, frequently armed and staged in a profusion of animal and plant life sometimes reminiscent of Persian miniatures. The backgrounds are often composed of words brought together by association of ideas, text bubbles, lettering and calligraphic backgrounds.
His art is a blend of references to graffiti, Byzantine art and comics, creating a playful, accessible universe
