Discover the Montmédy Citadel, its museum dedicated to Jules-Bastien Lepage, and the fortifications.
Jules Bastien Lepage Gallery: The museum consists of three distinct areas:
- a general introduction to the artist’s life and work
- an iconographic gallery for displaying drawings and fragile objects
- a painting gallery.
An interactive kiosk reveals the diversity of the painter’s creations by presenting his major works, most of which are held abroad.
The section dedicated to fortifications aims to highlight the richness, diversity, and interest of the Meuse region’s heritage in the field of military architecture, from its origins to the end of the 18th century: models of defensive structures, antique weapons, aerial views of fortified sites in the Meuse region, etc.
