Opéra : Un Match

Music and libretto by Benoît Menut and David Christoffel,
Directed by Sofia Betz,
Les Frivolités Parisiennes

A kickoff, a ball, two teams. And then, everything can change in an instant.
With *Un Match*, opera isn’t just for show—it takes the field!
National anthems, live commentary, slow-motion replays, controversial plays, extra time: everything that makes soccer so exciting becomes the stuff of theater and music. The show follows the course of a match, from the locker room to the third half, revealing its secret drama, its momentum, its tensions, and its twists and turns.

At the center of it all is Ya%F1 Debleu, a young soccer prodigy, playing for much more than just a championship. Caught between the expectations of those around him, the pressure to win, and an inner turmoil he cannot control, he finds himself facing a decisive question: win the match? Or choose his life.

A exhilarating soccer opera—one that thrills, makes you laugh… and where, suddenly, everything can turn serious.
