À propos
Behind the fountain, in the courtyard, note the residential building, now privately owned, which was formerly used as the town hall after 1801 and as a school since 1835 (with accommodation for the teacher), with latrines against the courtyard wall, immediately behind the fountain trough. The school was enlarged on the site of the old one in 1891, by A. Faure of Fayl-Billot. Faure of Fayl-Billot, based on plans by architect-builder Alexandre Martin of Montsaugeon. The town hall closed in 1959, when Aubigny joined the commune of Vaux-sous-Aubigny, and the school, with only two pupils left, closed in 1933.
