Chapelle Saint-Morand
À propos
This chapel, built in 1930, is dedicated to Saint-Morand, patron saint of the parish and of the wine growers. It was built on a plateau where many French and German soldiers died during the Great War and not far from the road to Santiago de Compostela.
It is also called the "chapel of the Loh", a word certainly coming from the German (Die Lohe) and which means "the flame, the fire". This is a reference to its geographical situation, since it is built on the east side, on the sunrise side
Today it is completely renovated and is an integral part of the landscape for the villagers and other walkers in the vicinity of the vineyard.
