UFA Roosevelt

The industrialists of Mulhouse initiated the creation of several vocational or technical schools related to the textile industry. In 1898, the city council expressed the wish to open a "technical school". The school, inaugurated in 1906, was co-financed by the City, the State and the Société Industrielle, and provided training for apprentices in the mechanical and construction industries. The architect drew inspiration from castles in the design of this massive building, with its multi-pitched roofs and asymmetrical windows. The building is not open to visitors.
