À propos
Intended to receive the schoolchildren of the Fonderie district, this building, with its particularly meticulous aesthetics, meets the dual criteria of pedagogy (aiming to adapt the premises to the school function)
and hygiene (it was time to fight tuberculosis)
As soon as it was built in 1909, baths, showers, sanitary facilities on all floors, central heating, electric lighting, refectory, drawing and singing room were installed. The floors were covered with linoleum, an innovation at the time. The bell tower/clock brings movement to this monumental building. The building is not open to visitors.
