Castelbrac, the refuge of the soul
Castelbrac was built into the cliffside close to the sea.
The Villa Bric à Brac, which in 2015 became the Hôtel Castelbrac, reveals an exceptional history. Built by the English Faber family who founded Dinard, the Villa was home to Robert William Hamilton, an English colonel and hero of the Crimean War, for 130 years, and then to the crème de la crème of French scientific research at the Muséum National d?Histoire Naturelle, including Commandant Jean-Baptiste Charcot. The jewel of Dinard?s founders, then a marine resort, Great History entered through the doors of Castelbrac.
More than a hotel, it is a place of remembrance and rejuvenation.
From the Superior room to the Suite Prestige Terrasse, all our rooms open onto the sea and offer identical comfort and top-of-the-range amenities. Most have a private terrace, and some are also available for guests with reduced mobility. Others, with a private corridor, allow several rooms to be combined, making them particularly suitable for families with children.
As for your taste buds, Chef Julien Hennote welcomes you to the Pourquoi Pas restaurant, with its panoramic view over the Bay of Saint-Malo, where he serves inventive, local cuisine awarded a Michelin star and two Gault & Millau toques. Discover authentic, seasonal cuisine, with a focus on the Emerald Coast and its local resources. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
Let yourself be seduced by the à la carte menu or the menus, which are renewed according to the seasons and the Chef's inspirations. The Lord Hamilton menu, the Lyona Faber or the Jean-Baptiste Charcot gourmet menu are imagined as a culinary interlude blending the flavors, textures and colors of Brittany's terroir.
The Aquarium bar, housed in the former aquarium, offers an extensive menu for a relaxing moment with family or a convivial aperitif with friends. You can enjoy house cocktails prepared by the head bartender, accompanied by l'Aquarium plates from Chef Julien Hennote every day from 11am to 10pm.
Let yourself be transported back in time in the Salon Charcot, former office of renowned polar explorer Commandant Charcot. Enjoy Tea Time with a selection of fine teas and fine pastries made by our talented pastry chef.
Castelbrac has its own private speedboat for exploring the Emerald Coast and islands. From April to October, the Fou de Bassan offers breakfast at sunrise, picnics on the beaches of the surrounding islands and customized cruises.
Electric bikes are available for hire to hotel guests.
