À propos
Los Arcanos del Desierto - the XXL version of Argentine trance, on tour in Europe. Born in 2013 in Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina, Los Arcanos del Desierto are an explosive orquesta that turns every concert into a giant fiesta. We discovered them in their playground. Guaracha santiagueña, a popular, ultra-danceable rhythm, boosted by tropical energy and the roots of Argentine folklore (chacarera, chamamé... and calves on fire guaranteed). But don't be fooled: the guaracha is complemented by Cuban percussion, jazz improvisations, Kapanga-style rock, and even musical colours from the Middle East. The result is a joyous cocktail of sounds, free, daring and totally mixed, reflecting an Argentina that is open, creative and constantly on the move. On stage, it's a heavyweight affair: a dozen musicians, clanging brass, percussion galore and infectious grooves. Each concert becomes a collective party, at once popular, refined and furiously up-to-date. The look is a blend of ancestral traditions and modernity, a nod to the Lebanese communities that have lived in the region for over 150 years. A strong visual signature, as cosmopolitan as their music.
Los Arcanos del Desierto are regulars at major venues and festivals (Santiago del Estero Jazz Festival, Tecnópolis in Buenos Aires, Salamanca Festival, etc.), and have also left their mark on recordings with Le Temple Mishky, Teriantropia and Trópico del Monte. Spotted in national competitions such as Rock del País and collaborating with artists such as El Mono de Kapanga, they are clearly one of the most original projects on the current Argentine scene. Led by Mariano SARQUIZ, the troupe transforms every live performance into a meeting place, where cultures meet, bodies move and celebration becomes a universal language. Come and listen, stay and dance, and leave with a smile on your face.
