Exploring the inherent qualities of colour.
My approach is multi-polar and attempts to synthesise various influences. On the one hand, there's a very formal approach, a taste for geometric compositions and simple shapes inspired by constructivism and the research into colour carried out by Kandinsky and Josef Albers.
"Can colour, as an energy that speaks to our innermost being through our emotions and senses, be used to construct space on its own?
Can colour alone be used to construct space?
My compositions are proposals in response to this question.
"A lot of geometry for the eyes, a little humanity for the heart". (Jean Hélion, French painter, 1904-1987)
