Back flips on a wire for Lucas Bergandi; a somersault from engineer to acrobat for Mahamat Fofana. Between knowing one?s fear and bending the line of one?s destiny, Clément Dazin stages two portraits as endearing as they are aerial.
An inventive craftsman of group pieces, Clément Dazin is also the author of intimate portraits that tie prowess to the personal stories of artists. Together with Lucas Bergandi, they created the duo A.N.G.S.T., dedicated to fear. In this pas de deux between wire and juggling, Lucas and Clément break a taboo and dance merrily on our nerves, exploring this ambiguous feeling, by turns a guarantee of survival or a harmful force. Mahamat, another part of the evening, is a solo for "acrobat-engineer". Written by four hands, it tells the story, through dance, acrobatics and words, of Mahamat Fofana, born in Côte d?Ivoire and destined for a brilliant future as an engineer, but drawn elsewhere by his passion for the circus. Social pressure, family debt, culture shock? To get back on his feet, agility isn't just a matter of the body. What if the circus was first and foremost an art of living?
