Coming from Lourdes in search of peace, Bernadette Soubirous left a deep imprint on Nevers. Her story is part of the wider history of the men's and women's religious congregations that have shaped the town. Today, we open the doors to an essential part of Nevers' history.
30/07 and 27/08: In the footsteps of the Gonzagues
The Gonzaga family played a key role in the history of Nevers. They came from Italy at the end of the 16th century and introduced the art of earthenware, which contributed to the town's renown. Their presence profoundly transformed Nevers, both in urban and cultural terms. Even today, their legacy is reflected in the town's heritage and identity.
