L'Yonne en aval du lac de Pannecière

📍 Mhère, Nièvre · 58140 Mhère
À propos
The Yonne downstream of the Pannecière dam is a flagship river in the department. Well maintained and signposted, it allows all anglers to practice their favourite technique in good conditions.

Of average size, between 15 and 20 metres wide, the Yonne flows over the granite of the Morvan massif, offering fast and coloured waters. The flows are conditioned by the functioning of the lake upstream, which usually releases more water from July to October than the rest of the year.

- Fly fishing

The whole of the course, between Chassy and Marigny-Sur-Yonne, is suitable for fly fishing. 9 foot rods are more than enough to fish in all situations. The fish particularly appreciate small, dark flies (dipteran type) and nymphs with golden balls on 14 and 16 hooks with curved shafts. Small parachute rigs should also be kept in the box...

- Fishing with natural baits

The spots are more marked than on large rivers. The anglers with the toc are thus delighted by fishing rather short with teigne, worm, or grasshopper according to the season. Because of the cold water released in spring by the dam, there are few minnows in the Yonne. The trout are therefore delighted to find a more substantial bite than the usual invertebrates that make up their diet. Don't forget your mounts...and your minnows.

- Particularities of the site

The capture size is 25 cm on the Yonne between Chassy and Marigny. The village of Montreuillon and its famous aqueduct are very popular with fishermen.
