À propos
Birris street takes its name from a deformation of a Swiss family name that settled in the street in the 16th century, the Burris. Beautiful houses were built at that time, such as the one at the top of the street, at 107 rue Birris. This large farmhouse, built in 1614, is richly ornamented with wood panelling, carved window frames and window sill panels. The floors of the dwelling are served by a masonry stair turret. Some window spandrels are decorated with radiating sun discs
At 128 rue Birris, there is a beautiful building dating from the first half of the 17th century. This farmhouse was built by the Burri family and the building has been remodeled, especially the openings. The oriel is preserved and the property is divided during the 19th century, separating the tannery with housing and drying room, from the main house. The building has been partially registered as a historical monument since 1929.
