Clytemnestre

Clytemnestra is one of those female figures crushed by history. A lecherous and demonic creature, this fallen queen defies the established order. What if, this time, we took the side of “the villain” and listened to her?

An exuberant drag queen welcomes the audience with a mythological recap: Agamemnon, Iphigenia, Clytemnestra, Orestes, Aegisthus—all names that make up Clytemnestra’s world. A monster with over-the-top makeup and costumes, she comes to tell us her life story. %AB A one-woman show %BB, a concert, a tale, and a confession—Clytemnestra is all of these and more: a disconcerting mirror of our times, an exploration of the violence of power in the face of attempts at emancipation and rebellion. A hard-hitting performance carried by an actress who is literally in character.
