An emblem of the Dunkirk landscape, the Risban lighthouse, the most northerly in France, stands on the ruins of a fort built by Vauban. Classified as a "Monument Historique", a visit to the lighthouse is accompanied by an exhibition devoted to maritime signalling in the former warden's quarters. climb 276 steps to enjoy a magnificent view of the port, the town and the Flemish plain.
