Fresque de Philippe Baudelocque

For Chaumont, Philippe Baudelocque has imagined a monumental fresco. On an immaculate white surface, the artist will work on an organic form, filling it with multiple and varied motifs. The motifs are the fruit of codified improvisation. Each motif is thought out in advance, but the final result is unknown to the artist himself. He composes over time, creating a kind of graphic cartography with different motifs such as geometric figures or symbols. Based on the element of water, Philippe Baudelocque will represent the living, while including its contradictions in order to graphically exploit the balance between the two. Created with oil pastels, this cosmic fresco will seem ephemeral, like drawing with white chalk.
