Tribunal de Grande Instance

📍 Mulhouse, Haut-Rhin · 21 avenue Robert Schuman, 68100 Mulhouse
À propos
In 1857, Mulhouse became a sub-prefecture and the seat of a court of first instance. Although the construction of a suitable building was mentioned as early as 1858, it was not until 1878 that the Landgericht was built. It became a court of first instance in 1919. It is a rare witness to the influence of the Italian Renaissance on public architecture in the Wilhelmian period, which is expressed in particular in its façade. The entrance hall is covered with small domes that surmount a magnificent monumental staircase.
