Maisons d'ouvriers

In the second half of the 19th century, Bruchois factory owners built a series of dwellings for workshop workers. They were particularly representative of what was considered "minimum but sufficient" working-class housing: two rooms, kitchen, cellar and attic, sometimes with a lean-to for livestock.
A few examples of this recent past can be seen in the Bruche valley: La Broque (rue du Général de Gaulle), Schirmeck (rue du Sanatorium).
