Gresswiller

📍 Gresswiller, Bas-Rhin · 67190 Gresswiller
À propos
The village is located around 30 km southwest of Strasbourg, and is suddenly revealed by a rocky outcrop at the entrance to the Bruche Valley. The Bruche river runs through the village.

The most interesting building is the church. Its late Gothic bell tower features a door lintel depicting Saint Martin sharing his cloak with a poor man (1523). Embedded in the surrounding wall of the former cemetery, a miniature Holy Sepulchre (circa 1500) catches the eye. In the nursery school, visitors can admire a planetary clock, an ingenious mechanism that simulates the movements of the earth, moon and planets, and indicates the days and months.

From Gresswiller, there are many beautiful walks, including access to the Wurmberg limestone hill. The slopes are home to orchid lawns and particularly rare flowers.
