📍 Les Riceys, Aube · 35 Rue du Général de Gaulle, 10340 Les Riceys
À propos
Located in the extreme south of the Champagne region, on the Burgundy border, in the heart of the Côte des Bar and stretching along the Laignes wine valley, the 3 villages reunited during the French Revolution that today make up Les Riceys each have their own listed Renaissance church. There is Ricey-Bas, Ricey-Haute Rive and Ricey-Haut.

Together, they boast an exceptional wealth of heritage and a surprising unity. The successive creation of these three villages, each with its own strong identity, led to a certain amount of emulation between the communities, which were nonetheless part of the same parish, hence the imposing churches, now listed as Monuments Historiques. Its architectural heritage is particularly rich and well-preserved, thanks in particular to its history, the quality of the limestone used, its privileged location outside war zones and the very specific style of its winegrowers? houses. The commune boasts no less than two castles, a dovecote, six chapels, seven washhouses and an imposing market hall, not to mention eighteen cadoles and countless winegrowers' houses, all clad in white stone, the oldest of which date back to the Renaissance.
