Eglise Saint-Vincent

📍 Les Riceys, Aube · Place de l'église, 10340 Les Riceys
À propos
This church, dedicated to Saint Vincent, is made up of two separate churches. The first, facing east, is now the chapel of the Virgin Mary. The second is a northward extension of the first's transept.
The original church served the inhabitants of various small hamlets, such as Lannes, Magny and others, under the jurisdiction of the bishop of Chalons sur Saône. The grouping of these hamlets is at the origin of Ricey-haut.
It is difficult to give a precise date for the first construction. However, one document mentions 1549. A century later, population growth necessitated the construction of a second church.
A visit to Saint Vincent?s is an interesting experience, as its transformations and facilities reflect the entire history of France from the 17th to the 20th century.
