From 1638 to 1641, a terrible epidemic raged in the locality and claimed many victims. The disease was so contagious that people no longer dared to bring the dead to the church; they would immediately bury them in the corner of a field or garden, under a heap of earth and quicklime; a large square cross of granite stone was erected on the grave (these tumultuous memories are found in fairly large numbers at the entrance to large villages and on the sides of paths).
