Located in Sète, in the heart of the Hérault region, Fort Richelieu was designed to replace the old Niquet battery in the 18th century. It was listed as a historic monument on May 10, 1996. Fort Richelieu is owned by the French Navy, and is only open to the public on Heritage Days.
