MUSÉE TRÉSOR DE NOTRE DAME DE L'ABBAYE

The museum was built up essentially around the collections of the Bishopric, the major and minor seminaries of Carcassonne, donations from private individuals, religious congregations and purchases made over the last 50 years. Notre-Dame de l'abbaye is the oldest place of worship in the city, which on 11 June 1096 received the visit of Pope Urban II (1042-1099) who came to bless the construction of the Saint Nazaire Cathedral in the city
