The Grand Raid des Cathares is an Ultra Trail event, with 7 different race formats. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced trail runner, there's something for everyone.
Created in 2015, the Grand Raid des Cathares held its twelfth edition on October 22, 23 and 24, 2026, departing from Carcassonne

The Trail des Hérétiques is a race limited to 620 participants, and is an open-air race using trails, paths and tracks in the Aude department.) It forms a loop starting in the Cité de Carcassonne, from the Porte de Narbonne to the finish at the Dôme (same place as the race number drop-off).

It offers a varied touristic and historical route, alternating paths, tracks, southern Carcassonne landscapes and large forests.

Start at 4 a.m., maximum time: 13 hours.

*Raid des Bogomiles: 101 km: 4,300 m D+, October 23 at 11 a.m
*Raid des Troubadours: 85 km: 3,200 D+, October 23 at 9am
*Trail des Hérétiques: 63 km: 2,750 m D+, October 24 at 4am
*Trail des Colombes: 41 km: 1,300 m D+, October 24 at 8am
*Trail des Patarins : 25 km : 850 m D+, October 23 at 2pm
*Trail nocturne du château comtal : 12 km : 250 m D+, October 23 at 8pm
