Le cloître de la Cathédrale de Bayonne
📍 Bayonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques
· Place Pasteur, 64100 Bayonne
À propos
The Cathedral cloister was built in the 13th and 14th centuries on the site of a Romanesque cloister, of which part of the wall remains. It played several roles: as a place of prayer, procession, cemetery and public square. Notables and guilds also held meetings here. Not having escaped the vandalism of the Revolution, the cloister remains stripped of all ornament. However, it is still home to some remarkable tombs and remains of the Cathedral.
