Pont de la Pierre
À propos
Under its centuries-old arches, the Vincou flows peacefully? The Pont de la Pierre, built in the 13th century, is one of the oldest medieval bridges in France. With its hunchback silhouette and four sturdy arches, it was long an essential passageway for merchants on their way to Mortemart and the shores of the Atlantic. In days gone by, this bridge was a transit point for the treasures of the sea: salted fish, sea salt and the generous wines of the Charentes region. Each stone still seems to whisper tales of travel and trade, in the shadow of time.
