L'invité du mois : Elise Lepine

Élise Lépine is a journalist for *Le Point* and *France Culture*. With an astonishing mastery and the natural flair of the greatest novelists, she has written an intense and compelling debut novel that is impossible to put down, establishing herself as an accomplished writer whose next novels we are already eagerly awaiting.

From the poverty of a Norman household in the 1930s to the French upper class living in exile in Morocco during the final hours of the Protectorate, via the horror of collaboration, %AB *Les courants d’arrachement* %BB spans twenty years of French history as told through the life of one woman. A grand family drama—dense and romantic, cruel and luminous. A free-spirited and complex heroine.

%AB Les Courants d'arrachement %BB is her first novel, for which she was awarded the 2026 Prix de la Ville d'Arcachon.
This debut novel reads like an %E9pop%E9e in which the heroine must choose her own destiny.
