Exposition Emmanuelle Cascail

Trained in a scientific approach to art, I develop a hybrid visual practice combining painting, drawing, engraving, collage and sometimes participative installations. My approach is in praise of slowness, contemplation and the beauty of the visible world. I question the fragility of living things, the erosion of certain humanist values, and our way of inhabiting the Earth. Embossing has played an important role in my work for several years now. Through the notions of imprint, trace and the subtle interplay of light and shadow, this slow technique opens up a space for attention and invites us to look differently. The moon has gradually established itself as a central motif.
