Vers l'orgue du futur

A classically trained organist and sound designer, Sam Verlen offers a unique concert experience in which the organ becomes a space for artistic exploration. In Vimoutiers, he will bring together the prestigious Cavaillé-Coll, an emblem of French organ heritage, with his own modular organ, conceived as an evolving, hybrid instrument.

Between tradition and innovation, he revisits the repertoire, infusing it with contemporary textures and weaving soundscapes that blend acoustic timbres, electromechanical devices and digital processing. This encounter between a historic instrument and experimental construction opens up a whole new field of expression, where each piece becomes a new, living sound construction.

Driven by a poetic sensibility, his interpretation seeks to reveal the organ?s richness and power in a new way, while questioning our relationship with technology and heritage. The Cavaillé-Coll organ, rooted in its history, thus dialogues with a resolutely contemporary musical style, giving rise to a sound immersion that is both sensitive and profoundly contemporary.
