A prolific artist from Normandy, Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) began painting horses in the 1910s, especially riders and carriages, before turning his attention to the world of racing, mainly in France but also in England.
Horses were a subject throughout his life, in his paintings, drawings and watercolors, as well as on fabrics, ceramics, furniture? and, of course, representations of the Haras du Pin, exhibited for the first time at the stud farm.
