"Nature and landscape
Christian SOEBERT ? Painter and photographer
I spent more than 30 years working for nature protection associations, discovering how to protect and manage the diversity of biotopes.
I also discovered the pleasure of spending many hours in observatories watching wetland birds, and taking part in numerous nature outings all over France.
So it was only natural that I should add my first camera to the indispensable binoculars.
A LUMIX compact, then a CANON 70D equipped with a CANON 100-400 mm zoom lens.
The choice of photos focused on contrasts, gradations of color in the background, light, and particularly the movement of birds, a source of harmony of form.
Pastels and watercolors followed, as my photographic work led me to depict color contrasts, chiaroscuro and movement on paper.
The "Nature and Landscape" exhibition I present to you is therefore a selection from several hundred photos taken over the last 10 years, as well as the fruit of my graphic work over the last few years.
For the past 5 years, my wife Isabelle and I have been living in Saint Pair sur Mer, a delightful jigsaw puzzle of varied natural environments and landscapes.
We have family in the Manche and Orne regions, and I studied at Intechmer in Cherbourg.
We love the authenticity of La Manche and spending our retirement here is a real pleasure.
So I hope to inspire you, to emphasize how harmonious our natural environments and landscapes are, and to highlight the absolute necessity of protecting them.
Let?s not forget that we are an integral part of Biodiversity.
Every day from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 3pm to 7pm
