Le Moulin de la Galette

Moulin de la Galette, formerly Moulin du Palais since 1622, has been a Debray family landmark since 1809. Transformed into a guinguette in 1870, competing with the neighboring Moulin Radet, it was chosen as the only mill for the family to keep around 1895. Immortalized by Renoir in "Le Bal du Moulin de la Galette", it inspired Toulouse-Lautrec and Picasso. The last of Montmartre's thirty mills still in working order, it remains inaccessible to visitors.
